About Art House
Cabrini Art House is building a community-led arts and cultural organization rooted in Cabrini’s history, creativity, and lived experience. Through walking tours, watch parties, fireside chats, resident storytelling, and our annual Party on the Blacktop, we create spaces for people to gather, remember, celebrate, and shape what comes next.
Our work is guided by former and current Cabrini residents, artists, neighbors, and families who understand that this legacy is still alive. Every program helps preserve memory, restore cultural pride, and carry forward the stories, relationships, and spirit that continue to define the neighborhood.
Your support helps us grow sustainable programming, deepen our community archive, restore William Walker’s mural, and move closer to establishing a permanent home for Cabrini Art House.
meet the founders
Cabrini Art House was founded by Marques “Merk” Elliston and Dr. Cher’Don Reynolds, two former Cabrini-Green residents committed to preserving the neighborhood’s history while creating new space for art, storytelling, and community gathering. Rooted in lived experience, their work honors the people, culture, and legacy of Cabrini while building a future led by the artists, families, and neighbors who continue to carry its story forward.
